Who We Are
ScaleX Labs is a Responsible AI company building an integrated platform of four purpose-built solutions to strengthen development evidence, decisions, and impact across the Global South.
Our platform brings together AI-Powered MEL, GenTraQ™, GrantIQ™, and ScaleX Labs Academy, connecting stronger project design, credible evidence, gender-transformative change, and professional capacity within one Responsible AI ecosystem. Every solution shares the same architecture, the same data model, and the same governing principle: AI must strengthen the development professionals of the Global South — never replace them. The software computes, flags, and reconciles; people judge, decide, and lead.
Why ScaleX Labs Exists
Across the Global South development sector, persistent challenges continue to limit development effectiveness: monitoring and evaluation that is too slow, costly, or thin to produce credible evidence; gender programming that counts participation but misses real shifts in power and voice; grant proposals that struggle to compete for scarce, evidence-hungry funding; and development professionals asked to do more with tools and training that haven't kept pace.
ScaleX Labs was created to close these gaps directly. Our four solutions work together to strengthen how initiatives are designed, monitored, evaluated, and made more gender-transformative; to generate credible evidence of what works, where, and why; and to inform decisions on what should be adapted, scaled up, or replicated — while building the capabilities of the professionals who lead this work.
Our Story
ScaleX Labs grew from decades of hands-on experience in international development, where persistent gaps between project design, implementation, evidence, learning, and decision-making repeatedly limited development effectiveness.
Its foundations draw on decades of development practice and methodologies developed through Global Institute for Development Evidence (GIDE), together with lessons and experience gained from their application and refinement across diverse development contexts, including work undertaken with development institutions such as the African Development Bank's Africa Climate Change Fund (ACCF). ScaleX Labs builds on this accumulated professional experience to develop Responsible AI solutions designed for the realities of the Global South.
In other words, ScaleX Labs did not begin with AI and search for development problems to solve. It began with development problems and asked how Responsible AI could help professionals solve them better.
Our Approach
ScaleX Labs starts with development practice — not technology. We combine established development methodologies, contextual knowledge, credible evidence, and Responsible AI to help professionals make better-informed decisions throughout the development cycle.
Technology supports analysis, identifies patterns, strengthens verification, and makes evidence more accessible — but it does not replace professional expertise, contextual judgement, or accountability. Evidence generated through our solutions is intended to inform human decisions about what is working, what needs to change, and what merits adaptation, scale or replication.
